Ford Super Duty® for 2022 offers a strong line of powerful engines. The available pushrod 7.3L gas V8 delivers durability and performance for strenuous everyday jobs. And the third-generation available Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel is stronger than ever. Both are teamed up with the TorqShift® 10-speed automatic transmission. So, whether you choose gas or diesel, you have the muscle you need for hauling or towing.
The 7.3L is the largest engine in a full-size pickup, boasting the best gas horsepower and torque in its class. The top-of-the-line gas engine generates the best gas torque in its class of 475 lb.-ft. at 4,000 rpm along with the best gas horsepower in its class of 430 horsepower at 5,500 rpm.
With a best-in-class PTO diesel torque of 300 lb.-ft., Super Duty® power takeoff (PTO) offers more torque than any other heavy-duty truck, giving you more power for upfits just when you need it. For added strength, the 10-bolt PTO mounting pattern provides a more secure mount for larger PTO devices to take greater advantage of this increased torque over the previous generation’s six-bolt pattern.
The 6.7L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel incorporates a driver-activated engine-exhaust brake. It restricts the turbocharger’s exhaust flow to generate back pressure and slow the vehicle, providing greater control while traveling downhill, regardless of vehicle load or road grade. Also, because the engine brake helps minimize having to apply pedal pressure, brake fade and lining wear are reduced, lowering the cost of maintenance. Three settings are available: On, Off and Auto. The Auto setting modulates engine braking as needed to help maintain the speed you want based on accelerator and brake pedal use.

Super Duty® offers available upfitter switches, located in an overhead console, for a variety of aftermarket accessories, such as a winch, lights, strobes, two-way radio. They’re factory installed, so there’s no need to cut into the truck’s electrical system. Six switches include two 40-amp switches (ignition on or off) plus four 25-amp switches (ignition on).
No matter where your job takes you, on or off the road, Ford puts you quickly and easily in touch through an in-vehicle touchscreen and voice-activated technology, as well as smartphone apps. Connect with people, navigate to a destination, get useful trip information — just about anytime, anywhere.
With FordPass™ Connect, you and your passengers can enjoy an available 4G LTE in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot, powered by AT&T. Up to 10 devices can connect at once, and you can access the hotspot up to 50 feet outside the vehicle. Now you can stay connected, even as you roam the highways.
The available 8-inch LCD productivity screen puts helpful information about a wide variety of vehicle functions on up to seven screens readily available through My View and easily accessed with controls on the steering wheel. For towing, input, track and save information about specific trailers and manage how you use them. The off-road tools include displays of lateral, vertical and turning radius information as well as the 4x4 system and traction control status.

Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned pro, backing up with a trailer can be challenging. This available feature makes it as easy as turning a knob (after initial setup) — simply rotate in the direction you want the trailer to go and Pro Trailer Backup Assist™ responds accordingly.
We should all drive defensively, but sometimes other people’s lack of attention can create a hazard. This available feature scans the road ahead and can alert you to potential collisions with vehicles detected in your path. If an impact becomes imminent and you don’t take corrective action, the brakes can apply automatically. But don’t worry — they’ll only activate if they’re needed.
Available Adaptive Cruise Control and Forward Collision Warning with Brake Support takes conventional cruise control to a new level. It lets you select the speed and distance you want to maintain from the vehicle in front of you. When traffic ahead slows down, you automatically do too, and you later resume the preset speed when traffic picks back up. Getting too close to the vehicle ahead? Forward Collision Warning with Brake Support can alert you to a potential collision: A head-up display simulating red brake lights will flash on your windshield, and an audible alert will sound. If you don’t react in time, the brakes will precharge and increase sensitivity, providing full responsiveness when you do brake.
Between glancing in the rearview mirror and craning your neck, backing up requires a little multitasking. So we help make it easier. The Rear View Camera may not be an extra set of eyes, but it does provide a great view of what’s behind your vehicle. Just make sure to keep the camera lens free of debris (like snow or dust) and you can navigate Reverse with more confidence.
